Abstract The Denton Centennial collection contains scrapbooks, programs, photographs, memorabilia, and 8mm color film about the planning, celebration, and reception of Denton's Centennial Celebration in April 1957. The photographs and film of the parade were made April 22, 1957. The scrapbooks contain some materials, such as photos and newspaper articles, dated before 1957, but the scrapbooks themselves were created in 1957. Abstract The first library in Denton was housed in what is now the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum, from 1935 to 1949 when a new building was erected that is now the current location of the Emily Fowler Central Library. That building was renovated and expanded in 1968, then again in 1980s and yet again in 2005. The Denton Public Library System also consists of two branch libraries: the South Branch, which opened in 1995 and was renovated in 2009 and the North Branch, which opened in 2003....

Abstract This is a collection of maps. These maps include maps of the City of Denton, Denton County, Texas counties, and outside Texas. Most maps are of locations inside the United States. Some maps are commercial, some topographical, some plats, and some used for utilities and precinct planning. Some maps are reproductions of historical maps. Maps have been donated by the local community.
