Abstract The Economic Development Collection contains the historical background and involvement of the Main Street Program, Sister Cities International, and other international programs between 1966 and 2012. Its assistance to the City of Denton includes the improvements of local businesses and presevation of historic structures with the assistance of the Denton Historical Commission and the Texas Landmark Commission.

Abstract Maps of Additions and Subdivisions to the City of Denton including final plats, replats, draft plats and conveyance plats. These maps illustrate the history and growth of the City of Denton from changing neighborhood names to businesses that are no longer in operation. They illustrate how the City looked and was developed dating back to 1878. The Engineering Design section currently uses these maps to facilitate projects as part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

Some maps are commercial, some topographical, some plats, and some used for utilities and precinct planning. Some maps are reproductions of historical maps. Maps have been donated by the local community.
